WHAT DO I DO?

NOW STREAMING

What Do I Do? is a podcast about current events for folx who want to get involved.

The goal of “What Do I Do?” is to use levity and brevity to identify approachable ways for folx to take action during a time where the world’s issues are very overwhelming. In each episode, we’ll talk about one thing happening in the world (social issues, politics, current events) and finish by identifying at least three specific action steps a person can use to get involved whether they are physical, financial, emotional, or other.

For example, the Amazon is on fire. What does that mean and what do I do? - You can 1) do something financial like donate to X organization, 2) something physical like volunteer with X organization, or even something as simple as 3) ask X question to a loved one.

Accountability #1

For our last episode of 2019, it’s more “What Have I Done?” than “What Do I Do?”. We’re talking about the actions that we’ve taken since starting the show and outlining some action steps for future accountability.

For our #ActionSteps in this episode:

  1. Designate an Accoutabili-buddy. Someone that you can work with to hold yourself responsible for doing the things you say you're going to do. In 2020 we’re also starting an Accountabili-buddy program. We find that having someone to share your plans and action steps with is a great way to stay motivated and feel seen in the work. If you’d like WDID to pair you with someone, connect with us on any of our social or email at wdidpod@gmail.com

  2. Make a plan! You're more likely to do things outside of your regular routine if you take the time figure out how you will get them done in advance.

  3. Tell stories! We all love a heart-warming story of people doing good in the world and frankly, we think it’s okay to celebrate! Gather up with loved ones this holiday season and talk about what you've done. Maybe you'll inspire someone else!
